The Perfect Way To Write An Awesome Essay Paper

Any student requires more than general knowledge in order to achieve excellence in your studies. Always have a positive attitude in everything you do and believe that you can achieve anything. You can easily right an A+ paper with the right tips. This is the real way to start writing an A+ paper.

Below are some of the steps to follow when writing your college paper:

  1. Making a schedule

Create a schedule in order to minimize stress. Start working on your essays early. Use the first two days to research, and after that write one page a day, with one day at the end for editing.

  1. Picking your question

Most papers contain mandatory questions. If you do not understand questions on the mandatory section, skip to the next one. However, some professors give you the freedom to choose your questions. In this case, do not rush to choose questions that seem easy. Instead, choose questions that seem interesting to you legitimately. You would rather work on difficult questions that are exciting than easy ones that are boring. Even if it is difficult, the professor will know that you took a risk and challenged yourself. It is challenging to come up your own question. When deciding, look at the required reading and course and come up with an interesting question. If you are unsure about whether your question is appropriate for the class, do not hesitate to talk to the professor during office hours.

  1. Find Information

For general or background information, check out useful URLs, general information online, almanacs or encyclopedias online such as Britannica. Use search engines and other search tools as a starting point. Consider domain name extensions, such as, edu (educational institution), .gov (government), or .org (non-profit organization). These sites represent institutions and tend to be more reliable. However, be wary of the millions of personal home pages online since their quality varies. Learn how to evaluate websites critically and to search effectively on the Internet to eliminate irrelevant sites and waste less of your time.

  1. Reading and note taking

Spare some time to understand your sources. If you have a pile of books to read, make sure to check your sources on JSTOR for relevance. The reviews will often give you a content of the book and provide you with a summary of how it was received — i.e., whether you should take it seriously.

  1. Drafting an outline

There are various ways to draft an outline. Imagine the essay is a discussion that you want to manipulate. You are going to present the topic, control which points are talked about, and respond to any questions or concerns that the other person may have before they can present them. Sandwich the body of your essay between an introduction and a conclusion section. Next, plan your thesis statement – the one-sentence summary of either what belief you are going to defend, or what topic you are going to explore further. Make sure you are specific in what you are going to talk about, but do not summarize the whole essay before you begin.

  1. Write the essay

Writing an essay will be easy especially if you created a good outline.

  1. Review previous responses from your professors

Consider each feedback that you got from your professors on previous assignments. Did you use too many words? Did you use too many quotes? Consider whatever advice your professors suggested in order to succeed.

  1. Which citation style to use

Use proper citation to avoid plagiarism. Different disciplines require different citation styles. Note that plagiarism is a serious offence that could get you expelled.

  1. General tips

Firstly, engage your essay subject. Really ask yourself the question that you are trying to answer in your writing, and then do your best to make your essay’s answer as thorough and clear a possible.

Secondly, write clearly. Do not get too creative. Elegant writing is always the best way to go. Some great books on this are the Chicago Manual of Style and The Elements of Style by Strunk and White.

Third, avoid using too much quotes. Using too many quotes is the sign of an insecure writer. A tip for this is not to have any books or articles open next to you as you write. Just go off your notes and your memory. Try using primary sources when using quotes. In addition, use a sentence before and after the quote to set it up and explain its relevance.

  1. Editing the essay

You finally wrote the essay.  Put it essay aside for a night if you can before looking at it. This will let you return to it with a fresh eye and a clear mind.

When editing, print it out and go through with a pen, crossing things out and marking them as you go. You can also read it aloud. Look out for any grammar errors and try to make your writing as clear as possible. If necessary, ask a friend or tutor to look over it for you to see if they catch anything, you did not.

Finally, know when to put it down. Be confident in yourself and your abilities. You did not come to college to be the perfect student you came to learn. Your will find out that your essay is much better than you think it is.
